What a joy to see so many smiling faces for our Celebrate Spring Open House in the Amigos Garden at the end of April! Visitors explored the garden, enjoyed live music, crafts, and delicious food, and learned from our local beekeepers and gardeners about the process and excitement of desert gardening. A bee demonstration hive was one of the highlights for our guests, who loved the opportunity to observe a hive at work and ask questions. Children and adults alike shared the joy of harvesting a carrot from the row, washing, and then eating right away – what a wonderful way to make a tangible connection of where our food comes from! Local young entrepreneurs shared their wares and volunteers prepared a delicious lunch for our guests.
We are so thankful to everyone who helped out: the local vendors, food prep, and live music, the beekeepers and gardeners and all our volunteers who joyfully shared their talents with our guests! This event would not have been possible without your presence and support. The Amigos Garden is richer because of you!
