Volunteer Spotlight: Olivia L.
Roles: I’ve mainly participated in the preparation of food, serving in the dining room frontline, and assembling to-go meals for other facilities around the downtown/west El Paso area.
Kind Olivia has brought her cheerful heart and joyful smile to the cafe as a volunteer since joining us in December 2021. We asked her to share her story at the cafe!
“I attend Calvary Chapel Sun City and found a volunteer opportunity at the Mustard Seed Cafe through their website. As soon as I spoke to Anna, she made the volunteer process easy and smooth. I got my food certification online and started my volunteer journey.
I enjoy mostly our fellowship at the Mustard Seed. I love that I prepare food amongst loving volunteers who love people and care for the community. I admire Ale and Carmen for doing such a blessed job with their hard work and dedication for the community that surrounds the Mustard Seed Cafe.
I’m new to El Paso and relocated from Hawaii in December 2020. I asked God to help me find “my people” to help me to make friends and give love to the community, and I found the Mustard Seed. I would recommend volunteering to anyone who feels called to serve and wants to do God’s work and give back to the community. The staff is loving and their purpose is golden! I love the Mustard Seed!”Return to Volunteers
